Juan Manuel Correa in ‘critical but stable’ condition after F2 crash
Juan Manuel Correa is at a’critical but stable’ condition in hospital following complications arising out of his accident at the F2 race of last weekend .
The 20-year-old’s parents issued a statement saying their child had been beneath ECMO assistance at hospital in London and in an induced coma.
„On his arrival to London, Juan Manuel was diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. That is an accident considered common in large impact accidents like this one,“ read an announcement.
„Unfortunately, this injury caused Juan Manuel falling to Severe Respiratory Failure. Juan Manuel is in an Intensive Care Unit that specializes in respiratory accidents.
„At this time period he’s an in endangered state of unconsciousness and beneath ECMO support. Juan Manuel is in critical but stable condition.
„We’re convinced that our child will surprise us like he always does with his enormous fighting will and strength and will recover completely.“
The family requested for their privacy.
Correa suffered injuries to spine and his legs after an accident at the F2 contain race at Spa. Fellow driver Anthoine Hubert died following injuries.
„Maria and I wish to take this chance to give our condolences to the Hubert family for their loss,“ said Juan Carlos Correa. „Our hearts have been broken, and now we can only imagine the pain that this reduction has brought them.“
Before being transfered on Britain on 22, correa underwent surgery following the accident on his injuries in hospital at Liege, Belgium.
F2 yields this weekend in Italy, together using Briton Callum Illott taking a pole for Saturday’s feature race.
„I’m really happy that we turned all that negative energy from weekend to some positive outcome, and performing it Anthoine, for Juan, and also for both their families,“ explained Illott, 20.
„I believe everybody as a whole, moving back out as an F2 grid and putting on a great result, with nothing bad after past weekend, was a really fantastic accomplishment by everyone.
„To develop, still be positive and keep going is amazing I presume.“
